About ZahraMoves
ZahraMoves is a company founded in 2019 by Zahra Badua dedicated to both education and performance. Its educational mission centers on sharing the historical and cultural significance, complexity, and beauty of African diasporic dance forms. This is accomplished through movement and percussion classes, as well as discussions and cultural seminars.
ZahraMoves welcomes participants of all ages and abilities, aiming to foster joy, self-expression, confidence, and a sense of community through its classes.
On the performance side, the company creates video projects and curated showcases that highlight and support emerging female-identifying artists of color.
